A local demolitions company rented the new Knikmops KM 140 E from Gebroeders Geens nv. Their customer had one specific requirement: one floor needed to be demolished from the inside out while people continued to work elsewhere in the building. KM 140 E proves its worth in demolition
The Knikmops KM 140 E was used to carry the rubble away. The walls and floor were demolished using a hybrid mini-excavator with a breaking hammer; the resulting rubble was scooped up by the Knikmops and discharged at the container. With its maximum height of 2.3 m this electrical articulated loader is able to swiftly manoeuvre on the floor. Its robust four-point roof protects workers from any falling rubble.
According to Jef, the Knikmops KM 140 E fully complies with their requirements. Their company is familiar with the power of the Knikmops, and they hoped that its electrical sibling would be able to match that, which soon turned out to be the case. The main challenge was in the time needed to charge the articulated loader, but as it turned out, it did not even need to be charged every evening. This allowed work to continue rapidly and without emissions. The work was light, which enabled it to be done on two consecutive days.
The Belgian family business behind the Rollmops & Knikmops now presents the market with not one but two possibilities for entrepreneurs who are ready to transition to zero emissions.
The first of these is the Knikmops KM 140 E Standard with a 20 kWh battery. This allows steady working for up to 5 hours, followed by charging from 0 to 80% in one hour and 45 minutes with the quick charger.
In addition there is the possibility of a Knikmops KM 140 E Endurance, which has a 30 kWh battery that allows up to about 8 hours of work. 2 hours and 30 minutes on the quick charger and the battery is once again 80% full.
